ABOUT US
In the 1970's while studying veterinary science at the University Of Queensland, Anne Phillips and David Shaw would often spend their weekends camping illegally on the beaches of Ballina Shire. They married at the commencement of final year studies, and spent two years working in small animal practice in the UK.
The Practice was established in 1978 by John Redmayne in a small shop at 1/53 Tamar St, and was purchased by David and Anne in late 1979. As the practice grew it relocated to larger premises at 52 Tamar St in 1981. The current Ballina vet is a purpose built small animal hospital built in 1994, and the second stage completed in November 2003.

Currently staffed by three full time veterinary surgeons, the aim of Shaw's Veterinary Hospital has always been to provide a full range of modern veterinary services in a comfortable and caring environment.
The practice also stocks a comprehensive range of quality veterinary supplies and pet accessories. The practice is well respected throughout the district for providing quality veterinary care to dogs, cats, cage birds, rabbits, rodents and wildlife.

Anne and David were heavily involved with the Ballina Rugby Union Club and the Lennox Head Surf Club during the 1980's and 1990's, and have been proud supporters of many local clubs and organisations.
